Spring is here and despite what the weather might be doing, I’ve already done the seasonal wardrobe swap over. Chunky sweaters have been packed away and swathes of linen now hang in my closet - waiting for the weather to catch up with my style agenda and show some promise of summer days ahead. When it comes to making sure that any new additions will go the distance, I’ve found that the best summer buys have been those I’ve planned ahead for and were on my Staples To Buy list from the previous year. I finally feel like I’m getting the hang of what I want from a summer wardrobe - the last two or three year’s purchases have take the form of key linen pieces, co-ord sets, a good straw bag and a pair of taupe suede Birkenstock Arizonas. There wasn’t much on my list this year but it did include a new swimsuit - I’ve opted for the Mediterranean olive-hued one below from COS. I’ve also ordered a crochet dress from The White Company (as seen in the header image above). If it works I’ll be wearing it as a beach cover up and with a nude-toned slip under, a pair of tan sandals (love these!) and an oversized summer tote.
